What’s new at Make It Allergy Free

Posted on June 18th, 2011 by author  |  No Comments »

Well it has been an eventful couple of weeks, both personally and professionally. I am working on finishing book number two, but became a little sidetracked when our home was flooded TWICE within two weeks. Needless to say, all work had to take a back seat while I attended to repairs of our home, which is still going. I’d planned for book number two to be released next month, but it looks like it will now be closer to the end of the summer. But that’s okay. It will still be released in a timely manner.

On the professional front, I am very excited that something I’ve been working on for a few years will be coming to fruition, and with an added bonus thanks to Texas Senate Bill 81. This fall I will be launching I Can’t Believe It’s Allergy Free! I Can’t Believe It’s Allergy Free! is a line of pre-packaged mixes based on recipes and allergy free concepts found in my books. The launch is scheduled for after completion of my newest book. This will be great for those that want to make allergy free goods by do not have the time or inclination to find all the ingredients and cook from scratch. True to the philosophy of my idea of allergy free, the mixes will not just wheat free and gluten free like so many other, but also free of all the other common allergens that I avoid in my recipes. I am really looking forward to this venture and I hope you are too. It’s going to be great. If you are on FaceBook, I have a page now at www.facebook.com/icantbeliveitsallergyfree. Go on over and like the page to stay up to date on new events.

Last, thanks to the newly signed Texas Senate Bill 81, come this fall I will be offering allergy free baking services from my home to local residents. I am really excited about this. Why from my home you ask? Because dealing with multiple food allergies myself, I know my environment is free of those allergens. You can’t say that with a commercial baker or shared kitchen. Senate Bill 81 makes this possible. (See related story here.) But who knows. If all goes well I may choose to open a dedicated commercial bakery at some point. However, right now my goal to to help make the lives of those with multiple food allergies a little easier. And who doesn’t like cute cupcakes or a great birthday cake? Plus, allergy free to boot. Now that’s the “icing on the cake.”  Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

So anyway. Now that repairs are underway at home, I can get back to business. I’ll be posting some new recipes soon and getting back into the swing of things. If you are looking for something in particular or would like to see something specific covered here, please let me know. I’d like to get some real comments instead of all the spam I’ve been getting. lol.

Have a wonderful day and have a great summer!

Why Are There So Many Food Allergies Now?

I came across this interesting article on the Dr. Mercola website. This article states a lot of the same conclusions I came to regarding food allergies, our food supply and environment. I also believe that the “foreign substances” introduced into our food supply are major culprits in the rise of food allergies these days. Please take a moment to read this article. It may amaze and shock you at the substances that were allowed in our food supply with little to no testing or regards to the affects they could have on human health.
